Tara is an empath. She is never judgemental about her experiences (both emotional & physical) with Ved in Corsica. For an empathy, patience is second nature although it might seem like a painfully exhausting wait time for others. For them, emotions and its complexity with the universe (& its beings) is far more higher than any other elements, including time. So her wait is filled with understanding and not anxiety. This allows her to eat her cake and dance alone to her tunes, without any tears in her eyes.
If it is possible, Tara can empathize with love itself. It is truly a blessing and a curse for an empath. Like almost every law in the universe, empaths usually attracts people who are broken. In this case, Ved who struggles with pathologically low self esteem, so much so that, he escapes into an alter ego while he is away from his usual environment. Tara’s intense attraction to Ved can also be because empaths feel an urge to heal people with emotional issues. But they often forget that everyone has to go through their own journey.
Emapths express and experience emotions on a very primal level. So Tara’s reasons to turn down Ved’s proposal, is devoid of any worldly logic. This can be very overwhelming for others. So Ved resorts to anger he is actually towards him but gets projected on Tara. On some level, Tara knows this. Even if she doesn't, she empathizes with his pain. And this can be a recipe for a toxic relationship.
In this innate urge to help Ved, she goes on to take the entire blame of his pain on herself. It works, for like two minutes before he abandons her. She is ready to cry, hold on him physically, chase him and beg him to see this truth. For her, crashing on the ground to show his power over her, is just an expression of her emotion. But what Ved sees, is her emotional strength, which he lacks.
Only when he completes his journey and is able to empathise with Tara, the relationship works. Only then they are able to communicate in the same emotional language while dancing individually to their own tunes of music.
